Currier Invests in Workforce Development

Auburn, NY With the increase in more complex custom molding programs, Currier Plastics has found they require a more skilled workforce and has made the decision to invest in the CPI Apprenticeship Program.  Six Currier employees will receive their Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Certification after completing a 16-month virtual course through Penn College of Technology.

The IMT program is a fully interactive curriculum with instructor led training covering Measurements, Industrial Math, Spatial Concepts, Introduction to Mechanical Components, Introduction to Fluid Power, Introduction to Industrial Electricity, Basics of Chemistry, Manufacturing Process, Quality, Lean and SPC Basics, Business Skills and Industrial Safety Readiness Training.

“We have worked closely with the Workforce Development team at Penn College to supplement funding for the program and we look forward to the impact on our workforce.  We have six apprentice trainees in the program already,” said Diane Pisciotti, director of talent at Currier.
