Currier Plastics Increases ISBM Machine Bank

Auburn, NY Currier Plastics is adding another Aoki Injection Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM) machine to their ISBM bank at their facility. Aoki’s ISBM technology was developed over 30 years ago and they continue to be the industry leader in plastic container development. Aoki focuses on molding with the lowest environmental impact while effectively using environmental resources.

Currier Plastics did their research on the ISBM technology several years ago and decided on Aoki Direct HeatCon Technology as the preferred method. The Aoki is a single step, 3 stage machine. The preform is molded in one station, stretched into the shape of the blow cavity in the second station and the third station ejects the finished product. “When stock preforms are purchased, they have to be reheated which drives up energy consumption. Another deterrent from stock pre-forms used in “2 Step” processes is that they can have blemishes or “pre-form dings” caused by friction during shipping or handling systems which transfers to the bottle walls” says Joel Sieber, Product Development Manager at Currier Plastics and he added “We made the right choice for our customers and for Currier Plastics.”

Currier Plastics is located in the heart of central New York and has been custom molding for a variety of industries such as plastic packaging, beauty and cosmetics, amenities, household consumables, electronic connectors and medical measuring devices since 1982.
