John Currier Adds Expertise to Central NY Economic Groups
Auburn, NY John Currier has been invited to join the board of Directors as Vice Chair of the Cayuga Economic Development Agency (CEDA) to oversee economic growth and development in Cayuga County.
CEDA provides guided access to a variety of available resources, including financial assistance, state and local tax investment incentives, training resources and technical assistance to help businesses within Cayuga County with job retention and affordable expansion. The Agency is led by a 15 member board of directors, mostly from private sector businesses such as Currier Plastics. “Whether you’re an entrepreneur just starting out or if you want to improve your mature business, CEDA has streamlined the resources to help,” says John Currier.
John Currier is also on the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) for the Central New York region. After being recommended by Andrew Fish, former Executive Director of CEDA, Currier underwent the six-month approval process by the governor’s office. There are 10 councils in New York State that develop long-term strategic plans for economic growth for their regions. CEDA works with area businesses to help develop proposals and works hand in hand with the REDC to determine which projects in the region will receive financial assistance.
Currier Plastics recently completed a multi-million dollar expansion with the assistance and guidance from the alliance of these two organizations.
Currier Plastics is located in the heart of central New York and has been custom molding for a variety of industries such as plastic packaging, beauty and cosmetics, amenities, household consumables, electronic connectors and medical measuring devices since 1982.
