Currier Announces New Quality Engineer
Auburn, NY Currier Plastics, Inc. www.CurrierPlastics.com is pleased to announce that Prashant Sawant has accepted the position of Quality Assurance Engineer effective immediately.
Prashant has been most recently employed as a Quality Engineer at Kenwell Corporation in Fulton, NY, working in an Aerospace AS9100 environment. Prior to that he has spent several years working in various roles in the industry in his home country, India. Prashant’s education background includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Datta Meghe College of Engineering in Mumbai, India, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Binghamton University, and a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Binghamton University.
“Prashant’s experience will be a positive addition to the QA team and contribute to the overall success of the quality department and Currier Plastics,” said Tim Walawender, Quality Assurance Manager at Currier Plastics. Prashant is focusing his efforts on the Cost of Quality Report which includes non- conformances closed out during the week, scrap rate percentages and production values. This report is studied and used in Currier’s weekly Key Results Measurement (KRM) Meeting in an effort to improve the molder’s efficiency rates. In addition Prashant will be responsible for assurance of Quality standards required for the facility.
