Auburn, NY. Currier Plastics has been selected to receive a 2013 Policyholder Award for Excellence in Safety Management by The MEMIC Group. Of the 19,000 companies insured by MEMIC, Currier Plastics is 1 of 6 receiving this award.
“This recognition is due to the efforts of everyone on a daily basis to identify and correct safety issues, the proper training of all employees and a greater focus on housekeeping,” says Dustin Dreese, Currier Plastics Health & Safety Manager who has been steering the company in safety since 2008. “Utilizing the Job Instruction (JI) Method of training as well as 6S housekeeping efforts have contributed to our safety record being within the top percentile in our industry” says Dreese. The industry rating for plastics processors has a standard of 1.0 and Currier Plastics 2013 projection is below this at .89 “This equates to approximately $ 130,000 in annual savings,” adds Dreese.
